As we enter December and look forward to the coming New Year, this is a time when many religions and cultures around the world celebrate major holidays. 2020 has been a really hard year all across the world. From pandemic to social unrest, from economic downturn to the food and housing insecurities created by all of, it has been an exceptionally trying time.

Now is when kindness, empathy, compassion, and understanding are more important than ever. We all need to try to come together, in spirit, to support one another. While most of us are having to stay physically apart to help protect each other from this deadly pandemic, it doesn’t mean that we can’t still be there to help one another. So many right now are suffering more than ever: fear of catching this horrible disease, anxiety over how to pay the bills due to lost jobs, loneliness at being isolated.

Unlike in the past, our global community is more connected than ever. Reach out to one another. Let people know that you care. Check on your family and friends. And if you’re one of the ones that is struggling, reach out to others* and ask for help. There is no shame in it. This is hard on everyone. Be kind and gentle with yourself as much as you can, because right now no one is at their best.

If you are able, donate. Donate money to your local food banks. Donate gently used items to local good works organizations. Donate your time to places that you have the ability to assist. There are many places that you can help while still remaining within your own home if it isn’t safe to go out (whether for yourself or for the community at large). Check with local volunteer organizations, they are more than happy to help match you up with somewhere that will suit your unique circumstances and abilities.

Please be kind. Be patient. Show grace. Understand that it isn’t the cashier’s fault that the store is out of the item you need. Realize that the delivery driver is just trying to survive, the same as you. Recognize that your favorite restaurant has had to pivot, and pivot, and pivot yet again to try to remain open in one fashion or another so they can continue to serve you. Support local businesses as much as possible.

Listen to the public health experts. Follow the advice of the scientists and medical personnel that are working at a feverish pace to understand and find treatments for this new disease. Yes, the advice changes from time to time. That’s because this is brand new. That’s how science works. As they learn about it, they figure out what works and what doesn’t. They are doing their best. Help them.

And please, hold a thought for our front line health care workers. They are exhausted. Please do your part. Stay home if you can. Wear a mask if you need to go out. Don’t gather in large groups. Wash your hands.

We will get through this, together. For the pandemic, hope is on the horizon. There are so many different vaccines that are showing great promise, at this point. As for the rest, if we hold to one another, if we care about each other, we can pull through. Humanity has always shown its best when things have been really tough but we’ve helped each other. Hold on. We’ll make it.

Dolby, myself, and all of our moderators, wish you and yours a safe and happy holiday season. May the new year treat us all well.

I am very open about my own mental illnesses (anxiety and clinical depression) and thus you needn’t worry that I will judge you for your own struggles. My PMs are always open.

From Dolby and I and all of our volunteers, we hope you have a happy and safe holiday season and that your new year is filled with peace and joy.

*Please note that due to the holidays, approval of addons or responses to messages may be slower than usual as everyone will be spending time celebrating the season with family and friends.
Now under new (old) ownership

After a number of months of negotiations, Dolby and I have some very exciting news to share with all of you! Under our new company, Good Game Mods LLC, we have been able to re-acquire complete ownership of the MMOUI network (all of the interface sites and Minion).

What does this mean for the future of the sites? Well, I can tell you about some of the short term things that we already know: The next few weeks will be spent getting the sites transferred over to our own servers. Coming up soon ™ we will be rolling out a new layout for the sites. We’ve also decided that we are going to honour any existing Zam premium memberships for a while. What we will do about a new premium membership in the future has yet to be decided.

We are sure you may have questions for us, so feel free to ask them here. We will answer them as best we may, but please understand that we obviously don’t have all of the answers right now. Where things will go in the long term, well, we’ll just have to see.

The best news of all, at least in our opinions, is that we aren’t going anywhere. Dolby and I are still as dedicated to the UI communities we’ve built today as we were the day we opened the sites. You can’t get rid of us that easily.

Hi all. Just wanted to let everyone know that, now that the Elder Scrolls Online NDA has been lifted, we've opened our UI site for it. So please feel free to stop by the new site, introduce yourself and start using ESOUI!

ZAM mourns the passing of our longtime Copy Editor.

Yesterday, we learned that our friend and ZAM’s longtime copy editor, Judy Freeman (known on our sites as Looker), passed away from lung cancer. Judy had been with ZAM since October 16th, 2007. From the start, Judy worked to clean up the scribbling of our various writers, journalists, and editors. Many of us were fortunate to work with Judy, relying on her expertise to hold us up and shine the brightest light on our creative work. She never wanted to be in the spotlight, but quietly mentored a surprising number of people on the front lines of ZAM News. Chances are if you ever read ZAM news you've read something she touched. She will be dearly missed by many here at Zam, and many that have moved on to other endeavours.

Thank you, Judy, for the time that you spent with us at ZAM. It ended far sooner than we all ever expected.

The staff at Cube World Mods would like to welcome you to our modification community for the Picroma game Cube World. (Yes, we are those same crazy people that brought you EQInterface, WoWInterface, EQ2Interface, RiftUI and more!)

We welcome you to use our forums and discuss your plans, wishes, etc. for modification development in Cube World. Please feel free to Introduce Yourself and be sure to read our Site Rules and Upload Rules.

Given that currently Picroma only allows limited modifications in Cube World we don’t have all of our usual features enabled yet. We will be enabling the rest of them as they become appropriate. In the meantime, we have the following enabled:

Site Features:
  • Downloads – A well-organized safe downloads area for all to browse, search and download.
  • Favorites list * – Add a Layout to your favorites list so you can keep track of your favorites with the option of a webpage list, rss feed and email notification when your favorite modifications are updated.
  • Comments * – Add comments to modifications in our download area. You can also receive email notification on newly posted comments on modifications you are tracking comments on.
  • Download CP * – Options to configure and change default settings of our download area. Also an entire download history of what you downloaded.
  • Uploads * – Modification authors have the ability to easily upload their modifications to our database and update it for future changes. Archives are kept every time you make an update so your old versions aren’t lost.
  • Forums * – Ability to post in our forums, attach files, use private message system.
  • RSS – Tons of rss feeds all over the site.
    And much more…
Basically all the features you are familiar with on our other interface sites.

If you find any bugs, or have any suggestions, comments or feedback, please don't hesitate to use our Site Feedback Forum.

* Requires registration to use feature.

Once again, welcome!

Hey Guys!

Not sure if anyone reads these things, but if you do, good for you!

My next project will be a big one and will take some time to complete. I work a full time job and don't have a heck of a lot of free time to work on these mods, but I will make time!

I will be introducing the races from the Guild Wars world into the Cube world!

Planned:
-Asura
-Sylvari
-Charr

May be added:
-Tengu
-Kodan
-Skritt
-(More to be announced)

If you have any suggestions, let me know! I will introduce these all once finished in a large mod pack! Then you can pick and choose from there!

Looking forward to working on this and sharing with you all!

Today I've made this Author Portal, because previously my creations were buried in multiple threads.

Hopefully this will make it easier to organise my mods.
